European Rotaract Information Centre

About

A European network since Antwerp

Rotaract Europe was founded in 1988 at the first European Convention in Antwerp. Representatives from 15 countries formed the first European committee.

1988

E.R.I.C. is founded. The first committee brings together Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey.

1993

Rotary International recognises E.R.I.C. as a multi-district information organisation, the first international MDIO.

Now

Country representatives from across Europe form the General Assembly. They elect a board each year to run events, service, partnerships, and communication.

What the network is for

Exchange knowledge

Share what works between districts, clubs, and members.

Foster friendship

Give Rotaractors a reason to cross a border and stay in touch afterwards.

Create impact

Back service projects that are stronger because more than one country is in them.

Strengthen Rotary

Keep Rotaract and Rotary International in the same conversation.

The year, in three rooms

REM, autumn

September or October. A regional meeting: the assembly, a host city, and a gala.

REM, winter

January. The second regional meeting. The presidential election is held here.

EUCO

May or June. The European convention, five days, and the election of the rest of the board.
